New Car Launches In Coming Weeks – 7 Models

In coming weeks, we will witness at least 7 major car launches across segments. Bookings for the updated Toyota Innova Crysta, Citroen e-C3 electric hatchback, Honda City facelift and updated Tata Harrier and Safari have already been commenced in the country. The new-generation Hyundai Verna and Brezza CNG are also expected to hit roads very soon. Here’re some key details of the aforementioned models.

TOYOTA INNOVA CRYSTA DIESEL

The Japanese automaker is all set to roll out the updated Toyota Innova Crysta with the 2.4L diesel engine only. The model lineup will be offered in four grades – G, GX, VX and ZX. The MPV will feature a newly-designed grille, slightly updated bumper and fog lamp assembly with chrome surroundings at the front end. On the feature front, the new Innova Crysta will offer a TFT MID, an 8-inch Smart Playcast touchscreen infotainment system with the smartphone connectivity, leather seats in two colour options, 8-way power adjustable driver seat, seat back table, ambient illumination, 7 airbags, etc

CITROEN E-C3

Citroen e-C3, the first electric car from the French automaker, can be pre-booked by paying a sum of Rs 25,000. It will be made available in two variants – Live and Fee – packed with a 29.2kWh battery pack and an electric motor. The setup offers a peak power of 57PS and 143Nm of torque. Citroen claims that the e-hatchback offers a range of 320km on a single charge. It can accelerate 0 to 60kmph in 6.8 seconds and attain a top speed of 107kmph. The e-C3 supports both the standard home charger and DC fast charger. The overall length, width and height of the electric car stand at 3,981mm, 1,733mm and 1604mm respectively.

HONDA CITY FACELIFT

Honda Cars India will give a minor update to the City sedan in the first week of March 2023. The sedan will be made available with the same 121bhp, 1.5L petrol and 126bhp, 1.5L Atkinson Cycle powertrains. Both motors will meet the upcoming RDE standards. There will be no diesel engine option. Just so you know, the hybrid setup is currently available only in the top-end variant that’s significantly costlier than petrol models. Therefore, the company will introduce new entry-level variants with petrol-hybrid powertrain. Besides this, the new 2023 Honda City facelift might get new exterior colours.

NEW-GEN HYUNDAI VERNA

The new-generation Hyundai Verna is surely one of the much-awaited new car launches of this year. The carmaker will announce its prices on 21st March 2023. Interested buyers can pre-book it at a token sum of Rs 25,000. The new Verna will be made available in four trims – EX, S, SX and SX (O), and two engine options – 1.5L, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5L turbo GDi petrol. Buyers will have 7 monotone and 2 dual-tone colour options. Major safety update will come in the form of ADAS (advanced driver assistance system). Significant changes will also be made to its design and styling.

UPDATED TATA HARRIER/SAFARI

Bookings for the updated Tata Harrier and Safari SUVs have been opened and both models are expected to go on sale in March 2023. The carmaker has confirmed that the 2023 Harrier and Safari will be offered with the ADAS tech. The suite will offer safety features such as lane departure warning, forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot detection, traffic sign recognition, high beam assist and lane change alert. Both SUVs will also receive a 360 degree camera, a new 10.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7-inch semi-digital instrument cluster. The info unit could get the wireless smartphone connectivity along with the voice commands in 6 languages. Powering the 2023 Tata Harrier and Safari will be the same 170bhp, 2.0L turbo diesel engine meeting the BS6 II emission norms. Prices are expected to be hiked by Rs 1 lakh.

MARUTI BREZZA CNG

Maruti Suzuki will introduce the CNG version of its top-selling Brezza SUV in coming weeks. The model will come with the same 1.5L K15C petrol engine paired to a factory-fitted CNG kit. It will return power worth 88PS and 121.5Nm of torque, thus making it slightly less powerful and torqueier than the standard gasoline unit. The Maruti Brezza CNG delivers a claimed fuel efficiency of 27km/kg. All variants of the Brezza could be offered with the CNG kit option.
